Annie: We’re back! Oh, is it good to be in a shielded refuge again. Smell that fresh-ish air.
Did we find anybody else, Manager . . . ?
Manager: Afraid not, Pickman Annie. This is . . . all known survivors.
Gil: . . . eleven, twelve . . . thirteen! There are thirteen of us! That is terrible luck!
Bramble: POINT OF ORDER.
If you count more carefully, you will find that our party is TWELVE AND THREE QUARTERS. We are as LUCKY as we can expect to get.

Hang on, is this mine owned by a Ceannic company, or a Sonheim-based company?
I’m guessing that it is a Ceannic company that also employs people from Sonheim. I could be wrong though.
13 is unlucky because of it’s connections to Christianity. Why would it be unlucky in this world?
In Bealtic numerology, the word for “unlucky” has the value of 13.
It doesn’t actually translate into Ceannic, but Beal used to be a lot more influential in the region maybe a thousand years ago. So a lot of its neighbors, including Ceannis, picked up various Bealtic superstitions/expressions and has kept them ever since.
Cool.
