Every time I go to update my “recs for Finished, or at least Permanently Ended, webcomics” page, I think: should I reorganize this somehow? Are there things I should explain better? Is the formatting weird? Should I just import all the entries into my Tagpacker recs and use that instead?”
…And then all those options seem like a lot of work, so I just add to the existing list, in the existing format.
How’s it working for you? Feedback welcome.
Here’s five new series I’ve added:
Andy Bass – Andy Bass is just like any other high school sophomore. She has to deal with maintaining grades, having an arch-nemesis, falling for a cute transfer student, and most importantly, being a vertical mermaid! (Totally normal, right?) Andy is the most hideous creature alive, and she still has to attend public school!
A heartwarming comedy about fishy family drama, high school dysfunction, and having a crush on a guy you’re afraid is too cool for you (because he’s definitely 100% human). Pulls off a solid story while committing to being silly all the way through. Complete!
Exorcism Academy – Ethan, a cadet exorcist, finds himself being seduced by his demon partner Al, but their unexpected romance is destined for darkness when human and demon worlds collide!
This life-or-death job involves summoning and controlling a living weapon. Getting seduced by the weapon was not in the plan. Falling in love was definitely not. For fans of “trying to have genuine feelings in spite of a really messy power dynamic” m/m romances. NSFW. Complete!
Her Summon – Due to a misuse of a word joke on live TV broadcast, girl group otaku, ‘Jin-Kyung’ ended up becoming doxxed and labeled as a “child predator”, and ended up getting Social Anxiety Disorder. 3 years later, as Jin-Kyung was no-lifing as usual, he was summoned to ‘Another World’, and came face-to-face with a bright-eyed, hopeful Summoner…
Another story about getting a supernatural partner from another world…except this summoner lands an ordinary shut-in otaku with anxiety and stunted social skills. A story that makes you go “wow, this really shouldn’t work, and yet somehow it does” on multiple levels. Complete!
Ship Wrecked – It’s tough having a mundane job. It’s even tougher when you’ve the least important job on a spaceship traveling through the cosmos. They’re not involved with any of the cool stuff happening on the ship but they still have a job to do and they’re going to find a way to do it before boredom takes their will to live.
Sci-fi comedy about the adventures of an intergalactic starship…’s accounting department. From osmosis, this is kinda what Star Trek: Lower Decks is doing, except Ship Wrecked was doing it first. Complete!
The Shufflers – Märchen is a cartomancer, a playing card fortune teller blessed with the ability to provide accurate readings every single time. Unfortunately, his loud mouth and sassy demeanor often gets him in trouble. Hiddenite is a mysterious wanderer with a literal world of his own…
Episodic fantasy about a sassy psychic who’s broke after predicting too many honest futures, the shy quiet teleporter who pulls him out of a bad future he couldn’t avoid, and the other quirky sorcerers they meet along the way. Not actually a ship, but certainly shippable. Every chapter works pretty well as a standalone story, so most of them are satisfying even though the last one isn’t finished. Perma-hiatus.

Sad to see “The Shufflers” really is gone.
