Leif is a gardener at his country’s embassy, “working off” a mysterious massive debt. Realistically, he’ll be a servant for life. Servants are supposed to be unobtrusive, but Leif isn’t good at keeping his feelings from showing. He usually makes up for it by trying not to have any in the first place . . .

Leif doesn’t suppress his feelings as much around Thorn! Partly because Thorn makes him feel safe and comfortable being himself.
