First set of lyrics is a play on (unofficial) national anthems of Sweden and Norway.

The second is from the Internet’s most-beloved Swedish song.

And the third is a few romantic lines I wrote, using as many metaphors as possible.

____

Leif (thinking): I’m next! With a song that took forever to pick out.

I could have decided to show off my national pride with a patriotic anthem . . .

[We love this land / rugged, weathered, under mountains / We’ll stand and fight / For the greatest land on Earth!]

Or delight these people with a showcase of the finest Sønska pop culture . . .

[Come dance along! put your hands together! move to the beat — ever and forever!]

. . . Or do a song that was secretly just for him. With a lot of poetry and metaphor, so he wouldn’t follow enough of it to guess and make things weird.

[There’s a fire in my hearth / it burns the highest when you’re near / I walk on air, I have no choice / My heart goes winging to your voice]
