I think they just discovered a loophole.
I don’t know why this surprises anyone. She gave the order to be caught.
Yeah, but at the very least it means that her orders can override the orders her father has. Which implies that the system is not as well thought-out as the servants think. Or that they discovered a loophole in the system
If he’s not there to countermand the order,is it really a countermanding?
