Cedar: Say, Lynwood . . . I’m pretty good at this singing thing, right?

Lynwood: Cedar . . . are you aware that you’re the twelfth richest teenager in the world?

Cedar: Oh? It went up!

Lynwood: Yeah. You’re very good at this.

You’re going to have a soaring career for as long as you want it.

Cedar: That’s what Papa always says! I just have to stay focused and work hard.

Lynwood: . . . I don’t think I’ve ever seen your parents in the audience.

Cedar: They’re focusing on their jobs, not me! That’s what my manager’s for.

Alright people, let’s start guessing. Stage parents is rather obvious, what other options do we have?

I think they’re the opposite of stage parents. They’re supportive of their kid’s career… but they peaced out and let a professional manage him, and don’t seem soaking him for the entirety of his wages.

Also, from a meta-perspective, I’m willing to bet that Ceannic Lillian Coogan already happened, and the laws are VERY particular about, just at a guess, children who earn money having most of it locked away where NO ONE can touch it without proof of destitution until the child is of majority.

…huh. Never considered that you might use multiple Colbert expys. (Or am I reading too much into the Shout*For flashbacks I’m suddenly having?)

Oh yes, Cedar is definitely Shout*For “Stephen.”

He was originally going to have a bigger role in this storyline so I could get more mileage out of all that background I worked out…but in the end there were too many other plot threads competing for space.
