Stanczia: I’m not sure what he said, but I do believe he was trying to sound menacing.

Imri: Don’t you speak any civilized languages?

Thorn: I speak Sønska! My vocabulary is a small, but I work on it!

Stanczia: It’ll do.

Go on, attack us, if you’re going to. Though you must know, legally speaking, that once you make the first move . . .

Thorn: . . . you can kill me. I know. But a heartsword can kill a vampire. And I am fast. Enough fast — I can kill one of you. The one who lives, after me, will live alone.

I am impressed with Thorn’s language skills – that was not a grammatically awesome threat, but it was certainly good enough to make it’s point, and actually is sort of more menacing for all its broken syntax. Also, good psychology on the threat.
