Oh no… that’s a lot for her to need to handle on no notice!
My impression was she did have at least some notice insofar as she, alongside Kallie, was watching what Atarangi was seeing, along with telling her off-screen in the previous strip (sorta) that they should switch. That said, it’s probably not something she’s dealt with before, no. But 1. we’ve seen her perform unexpected feats in stressful situations before (Training Wreck, Ø is for Overwritten) and 2. she’s a teenage magical girl, of course she’d jump in to help someone even if the odds are against her!
My impression was that she didn’t properly sense the quantity of water until she swapped up and powered up. Hard to judge volume just with your eyes.
Well, the winged bunny has really flown the coop now. I wonder, when Atarangi’s superiors said that she didn’t need to disclose her plurality, did they know that Kiki was magical?
It’s generally agreed that “younger” alters, or Littles, are connected to the emotional need to be protected, or other childhood related things. With Kiki first rescuing her sister’s “it’s complicated”, and now coming out properly, I’m very interested to see if this will help her come into her own and see herself as a real adult.
